E.P. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, BIMBILLA, USHERS IN NEW ERA UNDER PROF. CONRAD-JOSEPH WULEKA KUUDER

After months of delays, tension and procedural challenges, Prof. Conrad-Joseph Wuleka Kuuder has officially assumed office as the new Principal of the E.P. College of Education, Bimbilla.

Prof. Kuuder’s appointment, which was effective December 1, 2024, came after rigorous selection process conducted by a Search Committee duly constituted by the College’s Governing Council.

However, his assumption of office was initially stalled due to protests from a section of Bimbilla Youth, who alleged that traditional leaders were not consulted in the selection process. The resistance led to security concerns, delaying the official handover.

Following interventions by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission’s (GTEC) Director-General, Prof. Ahmed Abdulai Jinapor and the Nanumba North Municipal Security Council as well as the Regent of Bimbilla, the tensions were eased, paving way for Prof. Kuuder to take over the management of the College.

The delay in the assumption of office by the Principal led to operational challenges in the College including food shortages, water system breakdowns, etc, necessitating urgent leadership intervention.

In a symbolic gesture, Prof. Kuuder earlier, paid homage to the Bimbilla Regent, reaffirming his commitment to collaborating with traditional authorities for the College’s progress.

Prior to his appointment, Prof. Kuuder was the Head of Department for Ecotourism and Hospitality Management in the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment of the Nyankpala Campus, University for Development Studies. Prof. Kuuder has over 20 years of professional teaching and managerial experience. He has ten years’ experience at the Basic and Senior High School levels and another 14 years at the University for Development Studies.

With his assumption of office on March 28, 2025, stakeholders anticipate stability and academic continuity in the institution. The Students’ Representative Council (SRC), which had earlier threatened protests over leadership delays, has welcomed the development, expressing hope for improved welfare and academic conditions.

The E.P. College of Education now looks forward to a new chapter under Prof. Kuuder’s leadership, with a focus on resolving lingering challenges and fostering community harmony.
