The E.P. College of Education, Bimbilla, today, February 7, 2026, together with the family and other mourners, united in grief, painfully laid to rest Mr. Douglas Atingdui.
The hundreds of mourners, family members, colleagues, churchmates, and former schoolmates at the funeral testified to the strong positive impact Mr. Atingdui had had in the lives of many people. The chorus of tributes in his honour markedly defined him as “A Man of The People.”
The Principal of the College, Prof. Conrad-Joseph Wuleka KUUDER, in a touching honour paid a glowing tribute and painted a picture of sullen atmosphere in the College after the departure of Mr. Atingdui. He said, “Mr. Atingdui was not an ordinary staff of our College; he was the hand of stability and the heartbeat of Principals’ office”. He acknowledged that working as secretary to the former and current Principals presented Mr. Atingdui as a reliable colleague with deep dedication for service. The Principal further said he would personally miss him as the silence of his voice would painfully remind him of a life devoted to public service and the deep desire to serve humanity with humility.
He also encouraged colleagues to eulogies Mr. Atingdui by promoting what he stood for, that is, kindness, dedication, endurance and unrelenting reliability. His legacy remains not in minutes and files of the College but the number of good impressions he left on almost every member of the College community, he said.
Colleagues and friends recalled him as the “silent cement” whose efforts glued the College community in diverse ways. He had the extraordinary ability of making all feel seen, heard, and respected.
Prof. Kuuder reiterated the multiple appeals to actively help the grieving wife of Mr. Atingdui, his children, and encouraged the College community and all mourners to prioritize the needs of the family not only today, but in all future days.
In his parting words, the Principal trusted a peaceful resting place for Mr. Atingdui and expressed hopes that his spirit would remain with the College, serving as a guiding light to the community and a reminder of the fallibility of life.
Rest in Peace Mr. Douglas Atingdui, Forever Our Colleague, the Principal concluded.
