BIOGRAPHY

Issah Richard Bukari was born in Walewale in the 1970s to Mr. Salifu Issah of blessed memory and Madam Wuni Gumpo’a. He began his education at Naa Bongu Primary School in Nalerigu from 1986 to 1992 and continued to Naa Sheriga R/C Junior Secondary School between 1992 and 1995. He proceeded to Nalerigu Secondary School, where he studied from 1995 to 1998. His teacher training journey started at E. P. Training College, now E. P. College of Education, Bimbilla, where he obtained his Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ from 2003 to 2006.

Issah Richard Bukari further pursued higher education at the University of Education, Winneba. He earned his first degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports (2010–2014), a Master of Education in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports (2016–2018), and later a Master of Philosophy in Health, Physical Education and Sports Studies (2021–2023).

Professionally, he started his teaching career at E. P. Demonstration Junior High School, Bimbilla, where he taught Integrated Science, ICT, and Physical Education from 2006 to 2010. He then moved to English Arabic Junior high School Bimbilla, teaching ICT and Physical Education from 2011 to 2016. In 2016, he joined the E. P. College of Education, Bimbilla, as an Assistant Lecturer, a position he still holds. He also served as the Staff Development Coordinator from 2018 to 2020 and has been the Sports and Games Coordinator of the College since 2016.

Beyond teaching, he has contributed to several committees, including the Supported Teaching in Schools (STS) and the Examination Committee. He is also an Assistant Examiner for the Colleges of Education.

Through his dedication to education, sports, and community service, Issah Richard Bukari has established himself as a committed educator and mentor, contributing significantly to teaching, training, and sports development in his community.
